This past weekend was Kraft Hockeyville - one of the biggest 'events' of my year. Basically after awarding a town the title of 'Kraft Hockeyville' we bring in:
- Stanley Cup to the community, player Q&A
- Ron pre-tape HNIC in community
- Two NHL teams flown in to play in local arena for 1st pre-season game of the year (OV played, got sticked, stiched and back on the ice in a matter of minutes!)
- HNIC broadcast (with one of my all time favourite people Cassie Campbell-Pascall)
- Game was tied 2 all, went into overtime and then to a shoot out - Washington one the game but the Jet's sure did fight every step of the way!!!
Following are a few pictures - highlights included meeting and talking to all players of the Winnepeg Jets and the Washington Capitals. Also visiting the change rooms (pre game) and walking around the player area post game and standing next to the ice during the game - boy is that puck loud when it hits the glass!.
I was also fortunate to visit the CBC broadcast truck to see the production and how it all comes together - truly amazing!
